Cambridge Action Network

The Cambridge Action Network is a local bunch of mutually-supporting groups, projects and individuals who get together to take action on local / global justice issues, and share ideas, energy, info and resources. We organise by consensus, no-one is in charge, and we're not affiliated with any political party. We're concerned about things like global corporate capitalism, the destruction of our environment, wars, imperialism, militarism, classism, racism and other forms of oppression. We formed in May 2004 with the main aim of organising around the 2005 G8 summit, and have been involved in many local and national projects since. If you're interested in getting involved, you can contact the Cambridge Action Network at cambridge [at] lists.riseup.net, or come along to one of our planning meetings, or sign up for occasional information updates about local events and meetings by sending a blank email to can-announce-subscribe [at] lists.riseup.net.

Next Meeting

Meetings are every first and third Tuesday of the month, so that's 2nd and 16th June, 7th and 21st July .

Arrive at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.

Meetings take place at The Shop, 18 Jesus Lane (map).

Climate Camp National Gathering. Cambridge 20-21 June

Cambridge will be hosting the next climate camp national gathering!! This is really exciting. More details to follow soon...

Climate Camp is a national network that takes action on climate change. This summer (27th August to 2nd September) the Camp is hitting London, exposing how our economic system causes climate change. The Cambridge neighbourhood is gearing up for a summer of action, starting with organising the next Climate Camp National Gathering 20th -21st June which will take place in Cambridge, meaning that there's lots of fun jobs to do around hosting a big meeting, like cooking, providing accommodation info for visitors, and organising a party... All welcome, no matter what level of experience.
